With the new year, St. Pius V School is pleased to welcome three new teachers to our staff! We know that all three will make great additions to our school family and we look forward to all that they add to our community.

Ms. Mary Blaida, 7th Grade

Education: Loyola University Chicago

Previous experience at SPV: Last year, I student taught with Ms. Williams in first grade.

What are you most excited about for this school year? I am most excited about getting to know all of the 7th graders! 

Hobbies: Reading and running. Plus, I am also looking forward to working with running club!

 

Ms. Annie Scholl, Resource Room

Education: Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with endorsements in Spanish and English from DePaul University. 

Prior experience at SPV: Prior to becoming a resource teacher at St. Pius I was a DePaul intern and tutor here for four years. 

What are you most excited about for this school year? Last spring when I left St. Pius to student teach I didn't know if I would ever work at St. Pius again so I am the most excited to see all the students I worked with for the past four years and to continue working, laughing, learning and exploring with them. 

Hobbies: I enjoy reading, writing poetry and short stories, taking photographs, as well as interior design and art projects. 

 

Mr. Sean Mundy, Resource Room

Education: BSEd. in Childhood and Special Education from St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, NY and pursuing a Masters degree in Educational Technology from Pace University in Pleasantville, NY.

Prior experience at SPV: I am very excited to join SPV for the first time!

What are you most excited about for this school year? To be able to use my God-given skills and talents to help support the students, teachers, and staff to the best of my ability! Also, I am enthused about learning about the Pilsen community.

Hobbies: I absolutely love keeping up with trends in technology, going to the movies, and acting and singing in, directing and seeing musical theater productions.
